I’m not sure if you guys have heard of klout but I’m not sure how great of an idea it really is. Klout gives you a score out of 100 based on your online influence around the world. I feel like it’s really messed up. You get stuff for free which is nice but it claims to measure your online influence but I don’t think it knows what it’s doing at all.
I’ve seen people have a score of over 70 when they have a website and a bit of a fanbase (not as much as me though) and famous people I know have a score of 50 when they have hundreds of thousands of fans. Tell me how that makes sense? Apparently I have a score of 49 when I have 2’000 twitter followers and nothing else because klout doesn’t count wordpress since I have a self hosted site and I hardly get traffic on my facebook. Kate Todd has a score of 56 when she has over 24’000 twitter followers, youtube views and subscribers, TWO facebook pages. Tell me how I’m only 7 points behind someone so famous? I’m not sure if klout counts how many google searches you get but she probably has way more of that too. I know it has google plus but I don’t use that!
In my opinion, your online influence cannot be measured. I mostly use it for a fun competition with friends. You cannot take klout seriously! I’ve heard that when you search for a job, some companies will look at your klout score which i think is stupid. What if someone doesn’t have a computer and their name doesn’t even show up? NO number can tell me how much I impact the world because my website is the hottest thing since sliced bread and klout DOESN’T EVEN COUNT MY WEBSITE! Otherwise my klout score would probably be through the roof!

i think it’s a gimmicky thing. i had someone from there (klout) msg me at twitter to join, said they have a score of 12 and that mines ‘decent’ i just never minded the site. as you said their scoring system seems to be faulty.
that’s weird lol but yea it probably is just a gimmick
